Heat
Treated Keokuk Spalls
Keokuk
is white flint from Missouri. Its reputation for
good workability makes it a great choice for the
beginner to expert knapper. Also when heated this
flint forms rust red lines and speckles that run
through the stone.
These spalls range from 3-6 inches long.

Dacite
Spalls
Dacite
is opaque to very slightly translucent. It's medium
gray to black in color and is slightly grainier
than glassy obsidian. It looks and works more like
stone than obsidian. This is what we recommend is
best for beginning knappers. The stone is very clean
with little to no flaws. This is a great choice
for the beginner to expert knapper. These spalls
range from 4-6 inches long. This material is the
best price/lb bargain.
